  • USAID to Target NTDs in Cameroon and Togo – 08/17/09
    USAID is pleased to announce the addition of two new focus countries to its NTD Initiative. Following a competitive grant review process through its NTD Control Program, Health Development International (HDI) has been selected to receive a grant to implement integrated NTD control activities in Togo and Helen Keller International (HKI) has been selected to receive a second grant to implement NTD control activities in Cameroon. Cameroon and Togo join a growing list of countries supported by USAID’s NTD Initiative.

  • President Obama Announces New Global Health Initiative - 05/05/09
    On May 5, 2009 President Obama announced a new comprehensive global health strategy to address some of the biggest global health challenges. Along with enhanced efforts to address child and maternal health and family planning, the President expressed strong support for tackling neglected tropical diseases.  The President's 2010 budget focuses attention on these areas under a new Global Health Initiative.

  • Bill and Melinda Gates Urge Global Leaders to Maintain Foreign Aid – 01/30/09
    Bill and Melinda Gates announced a $34 million grant to the Global Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases to help control and greatly reduce the burden of the most prevalent neglected diseases that affect the world's poorest populations by 2020.

  • Global Annual Program Statement Released – 01/26/09

    USAID is pleased to announce the posting of a Global Annual Program Statement (APS) by the Neglected Tropical Disease Control Program soliciting applications from eligible organizations for conducting Neglected Tropical Disease Control Programs in direct partnership with governments in the eligible countries.
