USAID was among the original endorsers of the 2012 London Declaration on NTDs. This global declaration marks a key moment in USAID’s 10-year history in tackling NTDs.

Uniting to Combat NTDs published a digital toolkit to bring awareness to the 5th year anniversary of the London Declaration, signed on January 30, 2012.

Five years later, five years closer.

Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are a group of preventable and treatable diseases that place an everyday burden on the poorest, most marginalized and most remote communities in the world.

Five years ago, leaders from diverse sectors came together and committed to bring an end to these diseases. The declaration this group signed, known as the London Declaration, is a leading example of how partnerships can create historic progress. Today, we are closer than ever to a world without NTDs. Fewer people are suffering from these diseases than ever before and many countries are eliminating them entirely.

We can't stop now.
