NTD/Trachoma Focal Point for the Region of Kayes, Ministry of Health

Mr. Dramane Traore began his work on neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in Mali at the start of the integrated NTD program in 2007. His commitment has been unwavering as he has faced many challenges in implementing mass treatment campaigns at the community level. Most notably, he has worked hard to improve campaigns in the Kayes region, with initiatives focused on strengthening monitoring and supervision of treatment activities and overseeing drug management. In 2012 and 2013, he developed an innovative approach to increasing project quality by employing education students as community drug distributors to help bridge the divide in the ratio of distributors to community members.

His colleagues say they appreciate his seriousness and the quality of his work, his strong listening skills, and his adaptability. Armed with pragmatism and enthusiasm, Mr. Dramane Traore has served his country well as the Kayes Regional Coordinator for Trachoma and NTDs. The USAID-supported ENVISION project thanks him for his many years of hard work, which have produced incredible results in the region of Kayes.
