Female Community Health Volunteer (FCHV) /Health Volunteer (HV) and Farmer, District of Dang

For ten years, Bandhya Chaudhary has worked as a Female Community Health Volunteer (FCHV) /Health Volunteer (HV) during mass treatment (MDA) for lymphatic filariasis (LF) in the district of Dang. A local mothers group identified her as a capable person and requested that she join the LF MDA campaign in her district. Apart from her duties as a FCHV, Bandhya is a mother and a farmer.

Bandhya is dedicated and enjoys her work as a HV in her community. When asked why she stays committed as a FCHV, she replied, “I feel happy to administer LF drugs to all community people– fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters. I wish nobody would suffer from lymphatic filariasis in the community.”

Through her commitment, the implementation of LF MDA in the Dang district remains successful.
